Design decisions
The Chariot Pop-Up in Katara is a playful and immersive celebration of carnival-inspired design. With bold red-and-white striped canopies, illuminated signage, and whimsical architectural forms, the concept transports visitors into a vibrant fairground atmosphere. The layout is anchored by lively kiosks framed with retro marquee lights, paired with cozy seating zones that invite social interaction. A hot-air-balloon centerpiece and castle-like turrets enhance the sense of wonder, while layered lighting—from string bulbs to integrated neon—creates a magical ambience both day and night. This design balances nostalgia with contemporary execution, transforming the pop-up into a dynamic landmark that sparks joy and curiosity.
